Saturday, July 4, 2026, as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration marking 250 years of American independence, the American Pyrotechnics Association rates South Shore’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display as one of the top five in the nation. Gillemot Foundation and Bean Space Foundation, this free event will light up the sky with an awe-inspiring drone show, fill the air with a live Reno Phil concert, and elevate imaginations with an interactive expo for all ages. Greater Nevada Field will host the California Collegiate League (CCL) All-Star Game on July 4th as part of the America 250 celebration honoring the 250th anniversary of Independence Day. In addition to the all-star game, our biggest fireworks show of the year will take place following the conclusion of the game.

The Battle Born Patriots Chapter, Sons of The American Revolution invite the public to attend a re-enactment of the reading of the Declaration of Independence, after which the public is invited to ring the Liberty Bell. Click here to learn more.

The Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade is a cherished annual tradition held on July Fourth that brings together more than 35,000 attendees to celebrate our nation’s independence and salute the men and women of our military. Featuring 70 dazzling parade units and 2,500 participants—including veterans, first responders, youth organizations, and community leaders—the parade showcases community pride in motion. Parade entries celebrate veterans, American history and culture. Supported by over 500 volunteers from local schools and community groups, the event reflects the spirit of service, civic engagement, and shared history that define both our local community and the American story.

The parade steps off at Hillpointe Road and Hills Center Drive, travels south on Hills Center Drive to Village Center Circle, then turns west onto Trailwood Drive ending at the Trails Village Shopping Center.

Between 1841 and 1869 over 250,000 people sold their belongings, packed up wagons, and set out over-land for California. Learn the stories of the pioneers who endured the 2,000-mile trek; some seeking land, some gold, others seeking adventure, and some for reasons we may never know.
