AMERICA250 NEVADA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NV ENERGY FOUNDATION

Reno, Nev. (October 28, 2025) – America250 Nevada is pleased to announce NV Energy Foundation as a sponsoring partner for two vital programs commemorating the nation’s semiquincentennial: Our Nevada Stories and Civic Seal and Scholarship.

“America250 Nevada has developed programs to educate, engage, and celebrate the state’s contribution to the American story,” said Brenda Scolari, Director of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, the agency leading the America250 Nevada efforts. “We are reliant on the support of community partners to execute these programs and are proud to have a philanthropic partner in the NV Energy Foundation.”

Our Nevada Stories is an oral history program in collaboration with the Divisions of Museums and History and Nevada Arts Council. This historic archive will be curated as an audio time capsule through the stories of multiple generations and perspectives. Stories will be curated by State Folklorist Brad McMullen through in-person interviews and an online archive called Their Story. This collection will be broadcast via a podcast series in 2026 and will live on in State Museum exhibits and archives in perpetuity.

Civic Seal and Scholarship is a partnership with Nevada’s Department of Education and the Nevada Center for Civic Engagement. This program aims to expand and deepen civics education with funding to schools to support the Civic Seal program, which teaches government, public speaking, and leadership skills. Scholarships and classroom awards are available for students and educators who model civic responsibility and active leadership in their communities.
