    Project Description: This isn't your ordinary cleanup - this is a VOV cleanup! Join us as we gather together in the name of volunteerism to cleanup a local neighborhood park! Here's what to expect:

    - Arrive and enjoy morning bites and beverages while we spend time getting to know each other
    - Embark on a cleanup and the person with the most trash gets a grand prize!
    - Fill "Essentials Kits" that you can take with you or leave with us to donate to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission
    - Write letters to front-line workers, seniors and other community members
    - Complete our "Palms of Passion" project, sharing your passions with the community

    In addition, we will be hosting "Volunteer Trivia", which also will reward the 1st place with a prize!

    Project Description: Come help us find 30 of Nevada's most vulnerable missing children! Volunteers will disseminate missing child flyers in targeted neighbors, while gathering tips from people like convenience store clerks. These tips will then be relayed in real time to Metro. Each search always results in the location of some of our most vulnerable missing children, so come be part of this fulfilling mission!

    Official training is available on Thursday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Headquarters. Training is also offered before each shift on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7.

    Project Description: ReadUp Youth is leading a community project to build and install multiple Little Free Libraries to increase access to books for children and families. Volunteers will help with simple tasks like assembling, painting, stocking books, and assisting with installation. This project is hands-on, creative, and focused on making reading more accessible in our neighborhood through small, permanent book libraries anyone can use for free.

    Project Description: Volunteers will support a Valentine’s Day self-love makeover event designed to uplift and empower women through confidence-building services and community connection. Volunteers will assist with event setup, guest check-in, makeup and styling support, refreshments, encouragement, and creating a welcoming, affirming environment. This project celebrates self-worth, resilience, and community care by helping women feel seen, valued, and supported.

    Registration Details: Once you sign up with this link, you will receive a training email to complete as you set up a Kaleidoscope profile and prepare for scholarship applications to start to be assigned on February 9.

    Location: Throughout the state

    Project Description: Last year, we awarded nearly $7 million in scholarships to students across the state of Nevada. This year, we’re facing a record-breaking number of applications, and we need volunteers like YOU to help make these opportunities possible.

    Scholarship reviews can be completed anywhere in Nevada, from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule. Just a few hours of your time could truly change the course of a student’s life.

    Volunteer support is needed between February 9 and March 20. You can log in whenever it works for you, and we simply ask that your assigned scholarship bundle be completed within two weeks.

    Location: Valley of Fire State Park

    Project Description: Help protect one of Nevada’s most iconic landscapes during this important stewardship day at Valley of Fire State Park. Volunteers will assist park staff in removing graffiti from rocks and park structures, helping preserve the park’s stunning red sandstone formations for future generations. This event is ideal for adults and older teens who want to make a direct impact in a world-famous park while learning about conservation and responsible recreation.

    • Pets not allowed

    • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

    • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice; check the website for updates

    • Meet-up location will be shared with registered volunteers

    What to Bring

    • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes

    • Graffiti removal using park-approved methods

    • Outdoor work on rocky terrain

    • Moderate physical activity

    • Hands-on conservation experience

    Project Description: The Nevada Youth Day of Service is a statewide, youth-led service initiative taking place during Nevada Reading Week. Volunteers will support literacy-focused service by collecting, sorting, and preparing donated books for youth-serving nonprofit organizations across Nevada. Leading up to the event, students will help manage book donation boxes at their schools and participate in the Nevada Youth Volunteer Challenge, logging service hours and building statewide engagement. On March 7, 2026, volunteers will gather to sort donations, assemble literacy kits, and prepare materials for distribution to community partners. Volunteers will receive official service hour documentation and recognition through Nevada Volunteers Youth Empowerment and the Mayor’s Office.

    Project Description: We are setting up a supply drive at YMCA, Bottega Exchange, and other local businesses to collect period products, hygiene products, soap, shampoo, and socks. Then we are gathering volunteers in our community to arrange a packing party to distribute to homeless in Las Vegas.

    Project Description: Educate The Las Vegas community about diabetes awareness in pets. Provide resources for pet owners, promote responsible pet ownership and welfare, greet event attendees, help with event flow, support social media efforts, assist with dog daycare, etc.

    Project Description: The Community Giving Carnival is a youth-led service initiative where student volunteers take full leadership in creating essential care packs for individuals experiencing homelessness. Students will work hands-on at each station to assemble hygiene kits, period-care kits, snack packs, pet-care packs, and handwritten encouragement letters. This project is designed to empower young people to step into service, lead with compassion, and experience what it truly means to support their community. Every care pack these students put together will be donated directly to individuals and families in need, allowing youth to see the immediate impact of their efforts.

    Location: Arbor View High School – Gymnasium | 7500 Whispering Sands Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89131

    Project Description: This youth led service project brings students from elementary, middle, and high schools together to assemble hygiene kits, snack packs, pet care packs, and handwritten encouragement cards for individuals experiencing homelessness in Las Vegas. Volunteers will rotate through hands on stations as they work side by side to prepare essential items that will be donated directly to people in need.

    What makes this project meaningful is the way it empowers young people to lead with compassion, teamwork, and responsibility. By giving youth a direct role in serving their community, this project helps them understand the power of kindness and the impact they can make when they work together to uplift others.

  • Project Host: Nevada Volunteers Youth Council

    Date: April 11, 2026

    Project Description: Strip the Strip is a youth-led community cleanup focused on restoring public spaces along the Las Vegas Strip while supporting one of the city’s most underserved communities. Volunteers will work in organized teams to collect litter, sort waste, and help create a cleaner, safer environment for the individuals who live, work, and spend time in the area every day. This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to serve the community and be part of a visible effort that combines environmental action with civic responsibility.

    Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to participate independently. Volunteers under the age of 13 may participate only when accompanied by an adult. At this time, no background checks, formal training sessions, or onboarding meetings are required. All volunteers will receive on-site guidance and safety instructions before participation.

    A dedicated volunteer registration link will be provided for all interested participants. The registration form will collect necessary contact information, age verification, and consent where applicable. In advance of the event, staff volunteers will be provided with a digital PDF guide outlining key responsibilities, including event schedule, check-in procedures, assigned roles, games or engagement activities, and general expectations. This material will be distributed prior to arrival to ensure staff volunteers are prepared and the event operates smoothly. The volunteer registration system is currently in development—stay tuned!
