Diploma Seal of Civic Excellence for High School Seniors
The Seal of Civic Excellence on a high school diploma is a recognition for Nevada students who go above and beyond in civic learning and engagement.
To earn the Civic Seal, students must:
Earn at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale (if a different grading scale is used, a 3.85 weighted grade point average on a grading scale approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction)
Earn at least 3 credits in social studies (any social studies core class or social studies elective)
Achieve a score of at least 90% on the Nevada Civics Exam (taken no more than 2 times)
Earn a satisfactory score in citizenship (4 semesters in any social studies class with an average of 3.0 and above based on the Citizenship rubric)
Complete a service-learning project
Civic Excellence Award for Students
As part of our country’s 250th anniversary celebration, America250 Nevada is awarding Nevada seniors who excel in civics education. Award recipients will be honored with a $250 scholarship toward their post-secondary education, along with a certificate or plaque recognizing their excellence and commitment.
Fall applications are due January 15, 2026.
