  • Project Host: Public Education Foundation

    Ages: Open to Adults (18+), Open to Seniors (65+)

    Registration Details: Once you sign up with this link, you will receive a training email to complete as you set up a Kaleidoscope profile and prepare for scholarship applications to start to be assigned on February 9.

    Location: Throughout the state

    Project Description: Last year, we awarded nearly $7 million in scholarships to students across the state of Nevada. This year, we’re facing a record-breaking number of applications, and we need volunteers like YOU to help make these opportunities possible.

    Scholarship reviews can be completed anywhere in Nevada, from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule. Just a few hours of your time could truly change the course of a student’s life.

    Volunteer support is needed between February 9 and March 20. You can log in whenever it works for you, and we simply ask that your assigned scholarship bundle be completed within two weeks.

    Project Description: Clean up Old Town Dayton by removing trash, debris, and unwanted vegetation.

    Location: Walker River State Recreation Area

    Project Description: Help shape the future of Walker River State Recreation Area by restoring natural spaces at the Elbow and assisting with trail cleanup and pond restoration. Volunteers will contribute to long-term beautification and sustainability efforts while enjoying a rewarding day outdoors. This event is well-suited for beginners and families with older children.

    Location: Wild Horse State Recreation Area

    Project Description: Wrap up the Nevada State Parks Nevada Gives volunteer season at Wild Horse State Recreation Area by helping plant trees throughout the park. Volunteers will contribute to long-term beautification and shade improvements while enjoying wide-open spaces and scenic views. This relaxed, beginner-friendly event is ideal for families and volunteers of all experience levels.

    Location: Pahrump Valley Boulevard and Calvada Boulevard | 1266 E Calvada Blvd, Pahrump, NV 89048

    Project Description: Pahrump Valley Main Street will be hosting an event for the public to install features that beautify the intersection of Pahrump Valley Boulevard and Calvada Boulevard. The intersection is made up of two corners of strip center type store fronts and parking. One corner is apartments and the other is undeveloped land.

    The goal will be to install things such as planter boxes, solar lights, tiny library and other features. Volunteers will be provided with proper equipment for the tasks they are performing.

    Location: Elgin Schoolhouse State Historic Site

    Project Description: Be part of restoring history at Elgin Schoolhouse State Historic Site. Volunteers will help clean and beautify a newly acquired area north of the schoolhouse, preparing it for future public enjoyment. This project is ideal for history lovers and volunteers who enjoy hands-on outdoor work in a quiet, historic setting.

    Location: Washoe Lake State Park – Little Washoe Lake Area

    Project Description: Lend a hand at Washoe Lake State Park during a volunteer day focused on improving trails and lakeside infrastructure. Volunteers will help repair wooden stairs near Little Washoe Lake, trim willow trees, and assist with general trail maintenance. This project is perfect for volunteers who enjoy working outdoors in a scenic setting and want to make trails safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
