  • Project Host: Public Education Foundation

    Ages: Open to Adults (18+), Open to Seniors (65+)

    Registration Details: Once you sign up with this link, you will receive a training email to complete as you set up a Kaleidoscope profile and prepare for scholarship applications to start to be assigned on February 9.

    Location: Throughout the state

    Project Description: Last year, we awarded nearly $7 million in scholarships to students across the state of Nevada. This year, we’re facing a record-breaking number of applications, and we need volunteers like YOU to help make these opportunities possible.

    Scholarship reviews can be completed anywhere in Nevada, from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule. Just a few hours of your time could truly change the course of a student’s life.

    Volunteer support is needed between February 9 and March 20. You can log in whenever it works for you, and we simply ask that your assigned scholarship bundle be completed within two weeks.

    Project Description: This project will focus on helping the teens in our community feel safe and confident by helping them by providing basic first aid knowledge and First Aid and Hygiene kits, We will be putting the kits together to get them handed out to those who need them

    Project Description: Wrap and paint trees with animal deterrents in order to protect them from wildlife of all shapes and sizes.

  • Project Host: Nevada Division of State Parks

    Date: April 22, 2026

    Ages: Open to all, but minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

    Location: Sand Harbor State Park

    Project Description: Celebrate Earth Day at one of Lake Tahoe’s most stunning beaches. Volunteers will help clean up Sand Harbor’s shoreline and sections of the East Shore Trail, protecting Lake Tahoe’s clear waters and scenic beauty. This popular annual event is family-friendly and perfect for first-time volunteers looking to make a big impact.

    Need to Know

    • Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

    • Program is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice; check the website for updates

    • Meet-up location will be shared with registered volunteers

    America 250 Nevada Gives Project
    This volunteer event is part of the America 250 Nevada Gives Project, a statewide initiative led by America 250 Nevada to encourage civic engagement and community service in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.     Project Description: Grab your gloves and bring your neighborly spirit! Volunteers will team up for a feel-good community clean-up along Orovada Street, tackling the stretch from Silverada to the curve just east of Note-Able Music Therapy Services. We’ll roll up our sleeves to care for our shared spaces, meet new faces, and make a visible difference together. And because hard work deserves a good celebration, we’ll wrap things up with a block party—complete with music, food, and plenty of time to relax, laugh, and enjoy being together.

    No formal background check or training is required for this project.

    Volunteers are only required to complete our event sign-up form in advance, which collects basic participant information, an emergency contact, and a signed liability and photo/video release acknowledgment.

    Project Description: VGH is sprucing up the yards at both of our houses for veterans and their families to enjoy. Volunteers are invited to clean up our green spaces and plant additional flowers and bushes to brighten the spirits of our guests in times of medical need.
