The Annual Pony Express Re-Ride is a 10-day, 24-hour-a-day commemorative horseback relay covering roughly 1,900 miles from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California. Held each June, hundreds of National Pony Express Association volunteers carry letters in a traditional mochila, retracing the historic 1860-61 route across eight states.

It will be in Nevada June 22-24, 2026. On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm, it will pass by the California/Nevada Stateline at South Lake Tahoe.

Spectators are encouraged to attend the mochila exchanges, meet the riders, take photos, and engage with local Pony Express volunteers at each major stop.
